<p>OVERVIEW<br />
The Western Australian Substance Users Association (WASUA) is a state-wide, peer based community organisation that aims to improve the health and social circumstances of people who use both licit and illicit substances in WA. Programs and services are delivered within a social health and community development framework underpinned by harm reduction and peer education. Services include a fixed site Needle Syringe Exchange Program (NSEP) in Perth &#038; Bunbury, mobile NSEP in the South West, Health Clinic, Treatment Referral Service, Safe Disposal, Community Education &#038; Hepatitis C Resource Project, Opioid Pharmacotherapy Advocacy &#038; Complaints Service (ORPACS), Outreach program etc</p>
<p>1. Hepatitis C Educator (Hepatitis C Resource Project)<br />
WASUA is seeking a part-time (30 hours per week), suitably qualified worker for the Hepatitis C Resource Project. The successful candidate will have an understanding of harm reduction, hepatitis C and injecting drug use, education/training &#038; resource development, excellent interpersonal skills including community development, computer competency, report writing &#038; evaluation skills and a current drivers license.</p>
<p>2. Community Liaison Worker (Opioid Replacement Pharmacotherapy Advocacy &#038; Complaints Service (ORPACS)<br />
WASUA is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) suitably qualified worker for ORPACS. The successful candidate will have an understanding of harm reduction, pharmacotherapies and injecting drug use, excellent interpersonal skills including mediation &#038; problem solving, computer competency, report writing &#038; evaluation skills and a current drivers license.</p>
<p>Salary for both positions in accordance with the WA SACS Award, CSW level 5, commensurate with experience (salary packaging is available).</p>

<p>The Buttery therapeutic community providing treatment for people with chronic drug and/or alcohol problems has a vacancy for a full time position.  </p>
<p>The AOD Counsellor will be expected to have knowledge of the therapeutic community and its operation as a treatment modality, preferably this will be based on experience. They will have a capacity to function in a demanding and at times stressful position. Also demonstrated ability and experience running groups, individual counselling and case management. A background in treatment of drug and alcohol dependence is essential.  Relevant tertiary qualifications are required along with a current NSW driver’s license. DESIRABLE: Previous experience working in a therapeutic community.  </p>

<p>The Assistant Project Officer will provide support to the Comorbidity Capacity Building Initiative through the Cross Sectorial Support and Strategic Partnerships Project (CSSSPP) in the following areas:<br />
•   Support research and analysis into relevant and current issues in the AOD sector with a focus on comorbidity;<br />
•   Help develop reports and information bulletins and content on current initiatives and research including aspects of service quality and workforce development for dissemination within the AOD sector, particularly through e-newsletters and the SANDAS website;<br />
•   Support the CSDC in developing and implementing training and professional development events and activities for the AOD sector including the administration of a workshops and regional visits program;<br />
•   Provide ad hoc information and support to AOD agencies funded through the Improved Services Initiative to assist with service improvement;<br />
•   Help develop and prepare procedural documentation and reporting relating to the operation of project;<br />
•   Represent SANDAS in meetings and other forums as required; and<br />
•   Help develop project reports, including information to support project funding acquittal reporting.<br />

<p>The St Vincent&#8217;s Hospital Alcohol and Drug Service require an experienced Alcohol and Drug Clinician to work in the Stimulant Treatment Program.</p>

<p>We currently have 2 excellent opportunities for experienced AOD Counsellors to join the Port Phillip Prison team and deliver AOD counselling and education to prisoners.<br />
As an AOD Counsellor you will ensure the delivery of the Moreland Hall program within the prison environment. You will be responsible for providing counselling, psycho-educational group programs, and will work closely with prison officers.</p>
<p>One of the positions is a senior role and will provide clinical leadership to the team as well as providing general leadership in the absence of the Manager.<br />
The senior position is fixed term until 30 June 2012 and the other fixed term until 30 March 2012 to backfill a staff member on leave.</p>
<p>To be successful in either role you will have degree qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or Allied Health Sciences, Cert 4 in AOD or have 4 key competencies, qualifications in dual diagnosis or willingness to undertake, a current Victorian drivers license, and experience working in the AOD sector, particularly with a forensic client base or in a corrections setting.</p>

<p>· A newly created senior management role leading ACON’s Healthy Communities Program which brings together our highly respected and professional alcohol and other drugs and anti homophobic and same sex domestic violence program response teams.<br />
· Lead and inspire 10 full time, part time and volunteer staff across two multidisciplinary teams in designing, implementing and evaluating innovative, evidence-based and highly effective drug and alcohol and anti-homophobic and same sex domestic violence programs and services to ACON’s communities.<br />
· Strengthen ACON’s partnerships and stakeholder relationships with a wide range of non-government and government agencies in related policy, clinical, research and program delivery settings.<br />
· Provide professional harm reduction policy and program advice to ACON leadership and services.<br />
· Work with leading clinicians, researchers and health promoters.<br />
· 35 hours/week, three year contract full-time position.<br />
· Sydney based (Surry Hills).<br />

<p>YOU </p>
<p>· Excellent practice-based understanding of harm reduction principles and approaches demonstrated in a successful track record of programmatic application.<br />
· Excellent understanding of health promotion principles and practice.<br />
· Proven experience in successful design and delivery of community-based programs and services aimed at reducing harms associated with drug and alcohol use, including delivery of NSP services.<br />
· High level experience in effective drug and alcohol policy development, implementation and evaluation.<br />
· An understanding of the nature of and precursors to homophobic and same sex domestic violence and a passion for developing effective responses to it.<br />
· Experience in establishing and sustaining effective liaison and partnerships with other organisations and services, both government and non-government.<br />
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.<br />
· Effective and empathetic interpersonal, team leadership and management skills.<br />
· Understanding of and commitment to ACON’s communities of service particularly people with HIV. </p>

Program Coordinator<br />

<p>Youth Solutions is a youth drug and alcohol prevention charity working<br />
with young people 12-25 years and the broader community in the Macarthur<br />
and Wingecarribee regions of NSW.</p>
<p>The Program Coordinator will be a professional, high performing, results<br />
orientated individual focused on delivery and service excellence. The<br />
position reports to the CEO with the prime responsibility being to lead the<br />
development, implementation and evaluation of alcohol and other drug health<br />
promotion strategies.</p>
<p>Essential Criteria<br />
•	Appropriate tertiary qualifications and industry experience<br />
•	Ability to work flexible hours<br />
•	Driver’s licence and own comprehensively insured vehicle</p>
<p>With demonstrated experience in:<br />
•	Staff, student and volunteer supervision<br />
•	Working with young people and knowledge of current drug and alcohol<br />
issues and related industries, including an understanding of philosophy and<br />
policies of community organisations, local, state and Federal government<br />
•	Relationship management of internal and external stakeholders<br />
•	Development and facilitation of workshops and presentations<br />
•	Development, implementation and evaluation of programs/projects and<br />
associated resources<br />
•	Program budget management<br />
•	Program promotion (communications, media and marketing plans)<br />
•	Report and submission writing<br />
•	Administrative processes, including Microsoft Office applications</p>
<p>With a commitment to:<br />

•	New technologies and innovative practices<br />
•	Flexibility and the changing needs of the organisation and community</p>
<p>Desirable Criteria<br />
•	Certificate IV in Workplace Training &#038; Assessment<br />
•	First Aid Certificate</p>
<p>Relevant Working with Children Check will be conducted on preferred<br />
applicant prior to employment. All employees must abide by a Smoke Free<br />
Workplace policy.</p>

<p>This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an Innovative partnership between<br />
Odyssey House Victoria and Uniting Care Kildonan Family Services.</p>
<p>Odyssey House Victoria has been providing high quality drug and alcohol treatment services to individuals and families for over 30 years. An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Navigations Team that provides community based alcohol and other drug (AOD) counselling. This is a unique position that operates within the family based, child centred service of Uniting Care Kildonan in Reservoir.</p>
<p>The position will provide counselling and case management to individuals affected by substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions and will operate within the Kildonan Integrated Placement Prevention and Reunification Service (IPPRS).  This is a new position to trial an integrated service delivery model to clients referred from child protection services. The work is expected to be outreach with a client load of 4-6 at any one time.  </p>
<p>The successful applicant will have:</p>
<p>·         Relevant tertiary qualification with core drug and alcohol competencies along with a minimum of 3 years experience in the AOD field.<br />
·           Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds &#038; with complex presentations.<br />
·           Experience in providing a high standard of therapeutic interventions, case management, report writing, and working collaboratively with others.<br />
·           Experience or interest in working with young persons and families.</p>
<p>Odyssey House Victoria provides ongoing professional development and clinical supervision.  A competitive Salary of up to $60K (pro-rated) is offered, depending on qualifications, skills and experience, plus superannuation and attractive salary packaging.
